Welcome to Good Mews Rescue
(also known as Good Mews for Ferals)
While we were very successful adopting out hundreds of kittens and cats, we felt a better use of our efforts would be to go to the source of Houston's cat overpopulation problem by becoming a TNR rescue. TNR stands for Trap, Neuter, Return. We trap feral (unsocialized) cats, spay/neuter and vaccinate them, and return them to their original location. Most of these cats have a person feeding them but need Good Mews to minimize the birth of feral kittens (improving life for the cats already living in the area).
Good Mews Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity EIN 45-3806344.

KITTENS and FRIENDLY STRAYS
Good Mews traps kittens, ferals, and friendly strays. It's Good Mews' policy to not return a kitten or friendly stray to their original location. We believe they deserve a chance to get a nice home. We work with our rescue partners to match them with adoption programs to assist them on the road to a cozy, indoor life.

Rescue Spotlight
Donna is a feral cat who was rescued from a busy feeder road in Southwest Houston. Thanks to our donors, we were able to rescue Donna and get her the help she needed. Donna remains feral and after proper quarantine protocols, we released her to a safe location where she is fed and sheltered.
Feral Warming Houses
In the winter months, we construct and provide warming houses for TNR'd, feral cats in Southwest Houston. These warming houses are constructed with recyclable materials and stuffed with straw. These houses are especially essential for the safety of the local stray population due to the recent uptick of extreme winter weather in the Houston area.
